Neighbor by Neighbor Monthly Newsletter for August 2022

Neighbor by Neighbor needs more Neighbors!

With the 13% inflation rate of food and the 25-50% increase in rent, residents of Harbor Country are struggling. One of our Neighbor by Neighbor senior clients had a $400 rent increase. She was paying $800/month for rent, and her landlord raised the cost to $1,200/month, and this woman only receives $1,000 a month from Social Security. Considering this, Neighbor by Neighbor cordially invites you to attend our “friendraiser” at The Acorn Theater on Wednesday, August 31st at 7 PM. It will be a great night of electrifying music by the group, PureSoul. They will feature songs by artists like Ray Charles, Billie Holliday, Otis Redding, etc. At this event, attendees will learn more about Neighbor by Neighbor clients and the struggles they face every day.

Additionally, guests will learn what they can do to make a difference – giving financially, volunteering, or spreading the word about Neighbor by Neighbor’s programs. Join us and get educated while being entertained! General Admission tickets are available for $25 and are selling out quickly.  Click the link included here to purchase https://ci.ovationtix.com/35261/production/1125704?performanceId=11093823 We hope to see you there!

A Big Thank You to Our Sponsors!

We want to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported this “friendraiser.” Some have helped us in traditional sponsorship, while others have donated the use of space or food from their restaurant. One restaurant, David’s Deli, has an after-hours bar called The False Front. The bar manager of the False Front came up with two Neighbor by Neighbor Cocktails and will donate a portion of the proceeds of these cocktail sales to Neighbor by Neighbor. Regardless of how, we are very thankful for all of our sponsors:

Gold Sponsor: Berkshire Hathaway (Rob Gow and Chris Pfauser)
Silver level: Teacher’s Credit Union, Big C Lumber, Olson Electric, Hunden Partners, Villa Nova Pizzeria, Drier’s Meat Market, Gordon Beach/Lakeside Inn, Advantage Business Services
