Expanding Our Service Area!
Neighbor by Neighbor would like to thank Berrien Community Foundation and United Way! Between these two amazing organizations we were granted $30,000! These grants are specifically targeted to provide assistance to people outside of our regular Harbor Country area. From the generosity of two major supporters of community action, we are now able to also assist people in BRIDGMAN, GALIEN, LAKE TOWNSHIP, and WEESAW TOWNSHIP! Pass this along! For more information, please contact Neighbor by Neighbor, 269-231-0648.
Free Tuition With LMC Promise!
Lake Michigan College has launched a new program, the LMC Promise, which launches in the fall of 2022. The program covers tuition costs of eligible high school graduates through age 24. The LMC Promise is a “last-dollar” program that would pay the remaining tuition costs for students once other grants and scholarships have been applied. To check eligibility requirements and learn more about the program visit www.lakemichigancollege.edu/promise.
Harbor Country Emergency Food Pantry
The Harbor Country Emergency Food Pantry is open and available to people in Harbor Country, and the towns of Bridgman and Galien, who need food and clothing. Attention Homeowners!!
The Michigan Homeowner Assistance Fund (MIHAF) is designed to keep Michigan residents in their homes by providing financial assistance to eliminate or reduce past due mortgage payments associated with homeownership, including property tax, condominium association dues, and/or housing utility payments.
To apply and to learn more, please visit https://mihaf.michigan.gov/p/home. 211 is helping people who either don’t have access to the internet or adequate computer skills to apply themselves, with (1) understanding program details, (2) applying for the program, and (3) status updates on application in progress.
